Six new trainees have been welcomed into the KeolisAmey Metrolink (KAM) at event at Manchester Cathedral during Keolife Week. On Tuesday 4 June 2019, managers from various departments were invited to Manchester Cathedral to welcome the new trainees to their roles in their teams. Natalie Rea, from KAM’s Business Support Team, was one of the managers who went to the event at the cathedral to support the young people. She said: “Each trainee said a few words about their backgrounds and previous difficulties they’d experienced – but, mostly, they spoke of their huge enthusiasm to get into the world of work and aspirations for the future. It was a pleasure to attend the event and we are thoroughly looking forward to supporting these young people take their first steps into employment.” The traineeship programme is designed to help provide formal training and work experience opportunities for young people aged 16 to 24 in our community who are not currently in education, employment or training.
